Abstract

The Regulations introduce a licensing system for scallop fishing in waters falling within ICES (International Council for the Exploration of the Sea) sub-areas V, VI and VII specified in Annex I and Annex II to Council Regulation (EC) No 1415/2004 ("fishing area"). The purpose of restrictions on scallop fishing is the conservation of scallop stocks.
