Abstract

These Regulations amend the European Communities (Processed Animal Products) Regulations, 2000 so as to give effect to Commission Decision 2001/165/EC. A definition of “farm” is here given They also clarify certain provisions in the original Regulations in relation to eligibility for a licence. “A person shall not: (a) have processed animal proteins, in their possession or under their control on any land, premises or farm used for or in connection with the manufacture of feedingstuffs, or used for or in connection with the holding, handling, keeping or farming of any farmed animals, or (b)incorporate processed animal proteins into any feedingstuffs intended for feeding to animals other than ruminants, except in accordance with a licence granted by the Minister under Regulation 7.”
