The Hygiene Package revises and consolidates legislation in relation to food and feed hygiene in relation to the production, control and marketing of food and feed. It requires, among other things, that primary producers of food and feed products be registered with the Department of Agriculture and Food and that certain activities are subject to formal approval. A food business or feed business shall not be operated without proper approval or registration.
