Abstract

These Regulations serve to implement the enforcement provisions of Council Regulation (EEC) No 2455/92 as amended by Council Regulation (EC)3135/94 for those industrial chemicals which are covered by the Council Regulation, introduce necessary enforcement powers and make provision for the penalties that may be applied by the courts in the event of infringements. The designated national Authority for the purposes of these Regulations is the National Authority for Occupational Safety and Health. Separate Regulations implementing the provisions of Council Regulation (EEC) No 2455/92 and associated Council or Commission Regulations for pesticides covered by the Council Regulation have been made by the Minister for Agriculture.
