Abstract

These Regulations amend the European Communities (Equine) Regulations 2011 in regulation 27 which defines offences and prescribes a penalty for such offences. They also insert a new provision (regulation 30) which empowers the Minister to take action if the Minister is of the opinion that an equine animal has a passport or transponder that does not comply with the requirements of the Commission Regulation (EC) No. 504/2008 implementing Council Directives 90/426/EEC and 90/427/EEC as regards methods for the identification of equidae or is false, misleading, or void and of no effect.
