Abstract

These Regulations provide for controls on imports of pigs and products derived from pigs due to an outbreak of classical swine fever in Slovakia. They restrict the importation of pigs, boar semen and ova or embryo of a pig from Slovakia. The purpose is to prevent the importation of classical swine fever present in regions mentioned in Commission Decision No. 2008/377/EC. A person may not import or posses restricted articles unless they comply with specified Articles of the Commission Decision. The Regulations also define powers of authorized officers.
