Abstract

These Regulations place restrictions on the importation of a pig, semen, the ovum or embryo of a pigs, fresh pig meat, a meat preparation or meat product derived from a pig from the restricted area, i.e. certain parts of Germany where swine fever occurs and described in Commission Decision 2008/855/EC as amended. Import of the mentioned products and animals shall be in accordance with the Commission Decision. Having in possession or control of pigs or pig products in contravention of import restrictions shall be an offence. The Regulations define powers of authorized officers to control importation.
