They give legal effect to Community legislation in this field. The Minister shall, for purposes of such legislation, at certain conditions, approve breeders' associations or organisations whose headquarters are located in Ireland for the purposes of maintaining a herd-book. A pure-bred breeding pig shall neither be entered nor registered in a herd-book maintained by an approved breeders' association or organisation otherwise than in accordance with Commission Decision No. 89/502/EEC.
