"Avian product" means fresh meat of poultry, ratites, farmed and wild feathered game, poultry meat products and meat preparations consisting of or containing meat derived from an aforementioned species and eggs for human consumption. Import a live bird or an avian product which has been obtained from birds slaughtered after 27 January 2004 from the restricted area or cause or permit another person to import a live bird or an avian product which has been obtained from birds slaughtered after 27 January 2004 from the restricted area, except if the product has undergone a heat treatment specified at B, C or D of Part IV of the Annex to Commission Decision 97/222/EC. A person importing an avian product from the restricted area shall ensure that each such consignment is accompanied by a veterinary certificate in accordance with Article 3(1) of the Commission Decision.
