Abstract

This Regulation establishes the Ethiopian Horticulture Development Agency as an autonomous federal government agency, defines its objectives, functions and powers and provides with respect to its administration. The Agency shall have as objectives: to ensure the fast and sustainable growth of horticulture production and productivity; to facilitate the export of diversified horticulture products which meet internal food safety standards; and to coordinate the development of supporting services. It shall, among other things, prepare and submit to the Ministry a strategy which ensures fast and sustainable growth of horticulture and implement such strategy such strategy. The Agency shall have a Director General, who shall be the chief executive officer of the Agency.
