The objectives of the Authority shall be to: Promote competitiveness in the energy sector; ensure efficient, economical and fair supply of energy; and promote energy. The Authority shall have the powers and duties to exercise the powers and duties provided for under Article 4 of the Proclamation. The rights and obligations of the Electricity Agency established under the Electricity Proclamation No. 86/1997 are transferred to the Authority.
