The Statutory Measure concerns: activities in relation to imported macadamias wholly exempted from the payment of taxes; commercial production; growers selling macadamias to traders, exporters, wholesalers, retailers, consumers and/or other purchasers; exporter and importer of macadamia nuts; nut in shell industry standards. This Statutory Measure aims at financing the following activities related to macadamia industry, through the imposition of levies on all macadamias received from a grower: production, post-harvest treatment, and market development research; determination of quality standards; increasing consumption of macadamia nuts; promotion of cooperation between growers, handlers, processors and other macadamia industry role players; improving the health benefits of macadamia nuts consumption.
