Abstract

This Guide has been developed to identify indicative general standards that aim (i) to integrate sustainable and fair development standards into development plans to maximize returns on public investments and development revenues; (ii) to improve the quality of life for citizens; (iii) to ensure the achievement of doubling the ratio of green public investments from 15% to 30% by 2022. This will be achieved by (i) adopting the green economy methodology to achieve sustainable development within the framework of Egypt’s Vision 2030; (ii) raising awareness of sectors and interventions that have a direct positive impact on the environment; (iii) guiding government and private sectors towards investing in these sectors.
