Abstract

The present Regulations enact subsection 76(1) of the Canada Petroleum Resources Act. In particular, the Regulations lay down provisions relating to environmental studies carried out by the Research Fund. The purpose of the Fund is to finance environmental and social studies pertaining to the manner in which, and the terms and conditions under which, exploration, development and production activities on frontier lands authorized under this Act or any other Act of Parliament should be conducted. For the purposes of paragraph 76(1)(a) of the Canada Petroleum Resources Act, the “prescribed regions” are the regions described in Part I of the Schedule and illustrated in Part III of the Schedule. The text consists of 3 sections and 1 Schedule.
