Abstract

These Rules set standards and guidelines for the designation by the Environmental Management Authority of any portion of the environment as 'ESA' being an Environmentally Sensitive Area in the sense of section 41 of the Environmental Management Act, 2000. An ESA shall be designated for purposes of protection of habitats or if required by international obligations of Trinidad and Tobago. Guidelines for such designation are laid down in regulation 3 and Schedule II. A designation notice shall include the information specified in regulation 4 and shall be in the form set out in Schedule IV. Procedures of designation are set out in regulation 5.
