Abstract

These Regulations outline the comprehensive set of rules and procedures established by the Government of Nepal for the protection and management of the environment. These Regulations were enacted under the authority granted by the Environmental Protection Act, 2076 (2019), aiming to address various environmental issues, promote sustainable development, and ensure that environmental considerations are integrated into development projects and activities. The Regulations detail the requirements for environmental impact assessment, the responsibilities of various stakeholders, and the procedures for obtaining environmental clearances. They also specify the obligations for monitoring and reporting on environmental quality, penalties for non-compliance, and mechanisms for public participation in environmental decision-making processes.
