Abstract This Regulation implements the Environmental Protection Act 1994. It consists 9 Chapters divided into 173 sections and 12 Schedules. It regulates the environmental impact statements and the environmentally relevant activities classified on the base of the aggregate environmental scores worked out for the activities under the environmental emission profile. It prescribes the regulatory requirements with which the administering authority is required to comply for making environmental management decisions, and defines the matters relating to environmental management and environmental offences. The Regulation also gives effect to, and enforces compliance with, the ‘National Environment Protection (National Pollutant Inventory) Measure 1998'.
