Abstract

This Order, consisting of 41 sections divided into eight Parts and completed by two Schedules, establishes the Environmental Protection and Management requirements. This Order shall apply to the territory of Brunei Darussalam and establishes that it shall be the duty of every person: (a) to take, so far as is reasonably practicable, such measures to ensure the protection and management of the environment and the prevention, reduction, or control of any potential hazard that may cause pollution or damage to the environment; and (b) to comply with the requirements of this Order, which is divided as follows: Preliminary (Part I); Administration including Authority and Delegation of Powers (Part II); General Duty of person and Prescribed Activities including Environmental Officer (Part III); Powers (Part IV); Investigation of Environmental Incidents (Part V); Offences and Penalties (Part VI); Codes of Practice (Part VII); General (Part VIII). Schedules deal with: Prescribed Activities and Details in Written Notification of Prescribed Activities.
