Abstract The provisions of the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979 (hereinafter referred to as the "Principal Act"), as in force before the date of commencement of Schedule 3(7) and (14) to the Environmental Planning and Assessment (Amendment) Act 1985 (hereinafter referred to as the "Amending Act"), relating to the public exhibition of an environmental study shall, notwithstanding the Amending Act, continue to apply to and in respect of the public exhibition of an environmental study which was commenced to be publicly exhibited before that date and any such study and any draft environmental planning instrument in relation to which any such study was prepared shall not be rendered invalid by any failure to comply with the Principal Act, as amended by section 5 of and Schedule 3 (7) and (14) to the Amending Act (sect. 5 (1)).
