An exempt waste operation is a waste disposal or recovery operation that does not require an environmental permit under regulation 12 of the Environmental Permitting (England and Wales) Regulations 2007 as provided for in Article 11 of the Waste Framework Directive. Certain of these operations do not require an environmental permit provided that certain conditions are met. The Regulations make consequential amendments to section 41 and section 56 of the Environmental Protection Act 1995 relating to Environment Agency charging schemes and other consequential and minor amendments.
