Abstract These Regulations aim at: assisting the industry to implement the principle of wastes hierarchy as set out in section II of the Environment Protection Act 1970; prescribing requirements for assessing, categorizing and classifying industrial waste and prescribed industrial waste; encouraging the industry to utilize industrial waste as a resource through exempting material from categorization as prescribed industrial waste where a secondary beneficial reuse is established; and prescribing requirements for the transport and management of prescribed industrial waste.
