Abstract

These Regulations amend the Environment (Northern Ireland) Order 2002 to allow the Department of the Environment to provide for Northern Ireland schemes for the charging by enforcing authorities of fees or other charges, as respects permits granted under the Greenhouse Gas Emissions Trading Scheme Regulations 2005 for purposes of financing by the Department of measures with the framework of the EU Emissions Trading Scheme. They also amend the Greenhouse Gas Emissions Trading Scheme Regulations 2005 in relation to emission trading charges for Northern Ireland.
