Abstract

These Regulations require a person who wants to import ozone depleting substances listed in the First, Second, Third and Fifth Schedules (ODS) to apply for an import permit from the Minister. They implement the Montreal Protocol on Substances that Deplete the Ozone Layer of 1987 and as amended at London, Copenhagen and Vienna. From 1 January 2004 importation of new ODS and from 1 January 2007 use ODS or invest in projects using OSDS listed in the First and Second Schedule shall be banned altogether. Use of CFCs in products is restricted.
