Abstract The purposes of this Act are: a) to provide criteria for the appraisal of the reserves and productive capacity of energy resources and energy; b) to provide criteria for the appraisal of the requirements of energy resources; c) to bring about the conservation and to prevent the waste of energy resources; d) to counter pollution and ensure environment conservation in the exploration of energy resources; e) to secure the observance of safe and efficient practices in the exploration in energy resources; f) to disseminate useful information regarding energy resource. The implementation of this Act is entrusted to the Energy Resources Conservation Board; Sections 4 to 16 deal with, inter alia, membership of the Board, divisions of the Board, services of technical specialists, meetings, powers of the Board, personnel, hearing by examiners, rules of practice, enforcement of remedies, etc. The text consists of 48 sections.
