Abstract The present Law implements the Federal Energy Act of 26 June 1998. The Law lays down provisions relating to energy issues in the Canton of Aargau. The Law aim is to ensure the supply of energy; to create more favourable conditions for the production of energy; to use energy sparingly; to reduce pollution of the environment; to promote the exploitation of local and renewable energy sources. State activities have to take into consideration the need for sustainable development and the general economic situation.
