Abstract The present Law lays down provisions relating to energy issues in the Canton of Aargau. Its aim is to ensure the supply of energy; to create more favourable conditions for the production of energy; to use energy sparingly; to reduce pollution of the environment; to promote the exploitation of local and renewable energy sources. State activities have to take into consideration the need for sustainable development and the general economic situation.
