Abstract The purpose of the present Law is to regulate activities and competences of the Canton within the energy policy. The Law creates also a framework for the sparing and rational use of energy and use of renewable energies. All buildings and connecting facilities and equipments shall be planned, constructed and run in such a way as to use energy sparingly and rationally. The text consists of 23 articles divided into 7 Parts as follows: General provisions (I); Energy saving measures for building and plants (II); Promotion (III); Provisions concerning the electricity market (IV); Fees and penalties (V); Transitional provisions (VI); Final provisions (VII).
