Abstract

The present Regulation is made under the Energy Efficiency Act. In particular, the Regulation lays down provisions relating to reduce the amount of energy required to provide products and services. Section 5 establishes that for the purpose of section 2 (1) (b) of the Act, every energy device must have affixed to it a label, containing a registered trademark, word mark or symbol of the person or organization, that verifies that the energy device complies with the energy efficiency standards required under the Act. The text consists of 10 sections as follows: Definitions (1); Energy device (2); Prescribed date (3); Persons and organizations designated to verify (4); Labels (5); Placement of label (6); Prescribed efficiency standards (7); Testing and verification of energy devices (8); Repealed (9); Exemption (10). Five Schedules are enclosed.
