Abstract The present Act regulates, inter alia, the allocation of subsidies for measures to increase the energy efficiency and use of renewable energy. In particular, the Act shall contribute to an efficient and environment-friendly energy use and energy supply. Moreover, the Act transposes into national legislation the Directive 2004/8/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council on the promotion of cogeneration based on a useful heat demand in the internal energy market.
