Abstract

The present Act lays down provisions relating to the development and promotion of renewable energy sources. In particular, the Department of Energy Development and Promotion shall have the following authority and duties to: 1) conduct surveys, collect data, analyse, test and examine energy activities regarding sources of energy, production, transformation, transportation and utilization; 2) study, plan, formulate projects concerning energy and related activities; 3) research and develop, demonstrate as well as initiated pilote projects on energy sources; 4) design, construct maintain production and transformation of energy sources; 5) determine regulation and standards on energy sources; 6) determine remuneration rates for the utilization of energy; 7) make available, regulate, construct or accept production and transformation of energy sources; 8) transfer technology. Section 25 establishes that no one shall be allowed to produce or expand regulated energy unless a license is granted by the competent Department.The text consists of 41 sections.
