Abstract The purpose of the present Act is to promote reductions of greenhouse gas emissions within and outside Liechtenstein and to transpose, inter alia, the Directive 2003/87/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council establishing a scheme for greenhouse gas emission allowance trading within the Community of 13 October 2003. The text consists of 37 articles divided into 8 Parts as follows: General provisions (I); Approval and monitoring of emissions (II); Certified emission reduction (III); Project activities (IV); Organization and implementation (V); Legal remedies (VI); Sanctions (VII); Transitional and final provisions (VIII).
