Abstract

This Law provides for the management of emergencies. An Emergencies Council is constituted and an Emergency Planning Officer is appointed under this Law. The Council may by Act designate any Minister as a competent authority in relation to any provision of this Law. The Act defines the power of a competent authority in relation with various sectors including food and water. The Law also, among other things, provides for the declaration of the state of emergency and further regulation.
