Abstract

For the purpose of the present Act “disaster” means any real or anticipated occurrence such as disease, pestilence, fire, flood, tempest, explosions, enemy attack or sabotage, which endangers property, the environment or the health, safety or welfare of the civil population. Section 3 establishes the Prince Edward Island Emergency Measures Organization. The text – consisting of 21 sections – deals with the following aspects: interpretation, administration, emergency plan, states of emergency, liability for damage, enforcement.
