Abstract

This Act shall apply to and in relation to the emergency areas. This Act lays down rules for the appointment, duties, and powers of the Controller, Deputy Controller and Assistant Controllers to alleviate suffering and minimize damage arising from the circumstances giving rise to emergency. The Controller, Deputy Controller and Assistant Controllers may issue Emergency Orders for the purposes of carrying out their duties and powers under this Act. Refusal or failure to comply with the Emergency Order or any other order or instruction given by the Controller, Deputy Controller and Assistant Controller is accepted as an offence under this Act. Moreover, this Act sets forth provision on the protection of the Controller, Deputy Controller and Assistant Controllers for anything done or omitted to be done, in good faith under this Act or any other Emergency Laws relating to the national emergency.
