Abstract

This Act provides for mechanism to secure food supply in case of war, danger of war or other extraordinary circumstances. The Government shall appoint food commissioners for each province. the Minister may appoint other Commissioners for a specified area. These Commissioners shall carry into effect measures to be taken under this Act in respect of agriculture and fisheries and food production, processing in general. Provisions of the Act regarding emergency powers (6-12) shall only enter into force in case of an emergency situation.
