The Regulator’s functions, powers and objectives include: administer the licensing system for electricity entities; monitor and regulate technical standards in the electricity supply industry; promote efficiency and competition in the electricity supply industry; and establish and maintain a safe and efficient system of electricity generation, transmission, distribution and supply. The Regulator must also issue the Tasmanian Electricity Code which shall provide for matters specified in the Act.
