Entry into force notes

The Minister for Climate and Energy shall establish entry into force of this Act.

Abstract

The purpose of the Act is to ensure that the country's electricity supply is organized and implemented in accordance with the needs for security, economics, environment and consumer protection. The Act must, within this objective, ensure consumers access to cheap electricity. Energy suppliers which are not regulated by this Act, shall be entitled to a compensation for payment of CO2 taxes. This compensation is equivalent to CO2 tax rates for each year from 1 January 2010 and by highest energy consumption of fuel aimed to energy production for the years 2005, 2006 or 2007. No compensation shall be granted for CO2 tax fees of energy consumption after 31 December 2007. Energy transmission structures shall be administered by Energinet.dk.
