Abstract This Act lays down provisions on the functions of the Minister, Public Utilities Regulatory Commission, and the National Electricity Advisory Committee; framework for accelerated development of the supply of electricity from renewable energy resources and for the efficient generation and use of electricity; licensing for the supply of electricity; general powers and duties of licensees and permit holders; liabilities, immunities, penalties and dispute resolution between network licensees and consumers; and miscellaneous and transitional provisions.
