Entry into force notes
This Act shall come into force on such date as the Minister shall by Notice published in the Gazette appoint.
Abstract

This Act lays down provisions on the functions of the Minister, Public Utilities Regulatory Commission, and the National Electricity Advisory Committee; framework for accelerated development of the supply of electricity from renewable energy resources and for the efficient generation and use of electricity; licensing for the supply of electricity; general powers and duties of licensees and permit holders; liabilities, immunities, penalties and dispute resolution between network licensees and consumers; and miscellaneous and transitional provisions.
