As it is appropriate and necessary to amend and rewrite the Electricity Act, 1910 (Act No. IX of 1910) to develop, reform, provide better customer service and meet the growing demand for electricity in the power generation, transmission, supply and distribution sectors. The government will take necessary measures for the renovation, development, introduction and purchase and sale of advanced technology and related works of power generation, transmission, supply and distribution system. The licensee shall provide the same quality of electricity to each customer in its supply area unless there is anything different in the terms of the license: Provided that if a customer requests to supply different quality electricity through a separate supply line by paying a fixed fee, the licensee may supply electricity of that quality to that customer.
