Abstract

This Act lays down provisions for the establishment, functions and administration of the Economic Development Council. The objectives of this Act are: (I) strengthening the partnership and collaboration between the public and private sectors, (II) increasing Belize’s competitiveness, and (III) generating employment and encouraging the economic growth and development of Belize. The Economic Development Council consists of ten representatives from the public and private sectors, including the agriculture sector.
