Abstract This Act, consisting of 32 sections creates the Earthquake Reconstruction and Rehabilitation Authority. It establishes composition, duties and responsibilities of the above mentioned authority, entitled to perform all reconstruction, rehabilitation and early, recovery programmes and projects in the affected areas and in particular the following activities: conduct surveys to assess damage and carry out future planning in the affected areas; formulate a comprehensive development programme to provide for reconstruction of buildings, services, and infrastructures, drainage system, irrigation and agriculture facilities, etc.; restoration of economic activities and livelihoods; prepare resettlement and rehabilitation, plan for the affected population; approve projects, programmes and schemes identified; take steps for monitoring and evaluation of the approved projects, programmes and schemes; prescribe cost-effective technology, building codes or construction guidelines; etc. Full text English Website www.na.gov.pk
