Abstract

This Act authorizes the Mayor, Aldermen and Citizens of the City of Port-of-Spain (the Corporation of Port-of-Spain) to carry out on specified lands such works as they may consider fit for the purpose of repairing, making, preserving or maintaining a proper channel for the passage of surface water to the sea. Plans of such works may from time to time be authorized by the Corporation and must be approved by the Minister. The Act also prohibits the digging, winning, taking or carrying away of any sand, stone or gravel in a specified coastal area without a licence from the Chief Executive Officer of Port-of-Spain.
