In particular, it regulates the election of members, the terms of office, extraordinary elections, vacation of office, the payment of allowances to members and meetings of the Board. Part 3 provides for the financial management of the Board. Part 4 outlines the procedure for the registration of packing houses, which includes inter alia the submission of the application and the issue of the certificate of registration in respect of each registered packing house. According to provisions of Part 5, concerning the marketing of dried fruits, the Minister may by Notice published in the Gazette determine the maximum proportion of the dried fruits produced in any season which may be marketed within New South Wales otherwise than by way of sale to a winery or distillery for the purpose of manufacture of spirits or wine. The Board may by notice in writing given to the person in whose name any packing house is registered any direction which the Board thinks proper to secure the observance of any determination made by the Minister. The Board may exercise general marketing powers, e.g.: (a) make and carry out contracts in respect of the purchase or sale of dried fruits; (b) encourage the consumption of dried fruits and the development of the dried fruits industry.
