Abstract

These Regulations make amendments to the Drainage (Northern Ireland) Order 1973 and the Drainage (Environmental Impact Assessment) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2017 in order to address failures of retained EU law to operate effectively and other deficiencies arising from the withdrawal of the UK from the European Union pursuant to the European Union (Withdrawal) Act 2018. The amendments also refer to Council Directive 92/43/EEC on the conservation of natural habitats and of wild fauna and flora, as last amended by Council Directive 2013/17/EU.
