Abstract

The purpose of these Regulations is to ensure adequate sanitary fixtures in premises intended for human occupation and to avoid foul water disposal so as to protect and promote public health and to prevent infectious diseases. They shall not apply to existing premises except where public health is or might be endangered (reg. 4). General requirements regarding drainage and plumbing are set out in regulation 7. General prohibitions are set out in regulation 8. Drainlayers and plumbers shall be registered in accordance with regulation 9. Remaining provisions specify standards for drainage systems, deal with approval for registration and permits for drainage works and offences. (18 regulations and 5 Schedules)
