Abstract

This Order, made under articles 5(1), 19, 24, 29 and 60(1) of the Diseases of Animals (Northern Ireland) Order 1981, prohibits the importation of any machinery or vehicles which have been in use on land or used for the carriage of animals, poultry or eggs in a third country or any member State outside Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland unless such machinery or vehicles have been thoroughly cleansed and disinfected as prescribed in the Schedule. Where imported machinery or vehicles have not been satisfactorily cleansed and disinfected, an inspector may issue a notice requiring them to be exported, destroyed, or cleansed and disinfected.
