Abstract

This Act concerns the response to disasters affecting Cook Islands. The objects of this Act are to: (a) ensure Disaster Risk Management procedures are put in place and provided by Emergency Management Cook Islands by means of disaster risk reduction, mitigation, preparedness, response and recovery; (b) establish an efficient structure for the management of disasters and emergencies by promoting cooperation amongst agencies with a role in disaster risk management, and enhancing their capacities t
