There is also established a Disaster Management Office in the responsible ministry and the Act requires a National Disaster Management Plan to be drafted. The Act further defines responsible agencies for purposes of the Act, defines powers and functions of the responsible Minister and grants power to the Head of State to declare disasters and emergencies.
