Abstract This Directive is composed of 9 articles. Article 1 deals with terms and definitions. Farmers shall inform within 3 days the Agriculture Department about pests or epidemics in their farms (art. 2). The Ministry of Agriculture shall define measures to be taken and pesticides to be used against pests or epidemics (art. 3). Fighting operations in farms shall be carried out at the expenses of farmers (art. 4). In case of the spread of particular epidemics such as locusts the Ministry of Agriculture shall carry out the combating operations at own expenses (art. 7).
