This Directive enters into force on the date of its publication in the Official Gazette.
Abstract

This Directive is composed of 13 articles. Articles 1 and 2 deal with terms and definitions. Article 3 defines measures to be taken by animal owners in case of the existence of animals affected with contagious diseases. Article 5 specifies measures to be taken by the Ministry of Agriculture in case of the existence of animals affected with a contagious diseases. Article 7 decrees the obligation to burn or burry affected animals under the control of the Ministry of Agriculture. The Ministry shall carry out the disinfection and disinfestations operations (art. 8). Article 11 regulates the moving and transportation of animals for fighting and prevention of diseases. Article 12 provides for quarantine measures for animal consignments.
